Writers: Learn your CMS!

So there's more to Artisan than parties. We're working on some pretty cool writing jobs but I'm noticing that clients today demand more than the ability to write effective sentences. Clients need writers who are comfortable using content management tools, too. One of the clients we're working with now is looking for writers who not only use CMS tools but also are proficient in multiple languages like Italian. One of the most common CMS tools our clients request copywriters know is called Vignette. You can learn more about Vignette here: http://www.vignette.com/.

Basically a CMS is a tool writers or production artists use in the back-end of a website to produce online copy and associated graphics. Typically writers in large corporations learn how to use CMS as a way to upload the work they create independently. Changes to HTML can be made on the fly using a WYSIWYG application. Writers have the luxury of seeing their work as it appears on the site live without having to know technical HTML coding. Writers can "test out" their content for bugs and make sure the copy looks OK once it's posted online.

Our client is looking for writers with the ability to edit copy using CMS tools. Writers have the luxury of working from their home offices but they have to be fluent speakers of German or Italian. Pretty cool gig if you can speak the language! You can read more about these jobs here: http://www.artisantalent.com/job/29472/online-copy-editor-german-italian-offsite/
