Our client is in need of a Design Manager with packaging expertise preferably with skin and beauty products. Candidates should have excellent hands-on skills and a good knowledge of design processes such as; packaging, collateral, and web. In this role you will be responsible for the domestic and international design direction of packaging for all major brands and innovation concepts. You will drive and elevate the visual reinforcement of brands by developing global design strategies, directing the creative product, and managing beginning-to-end projects. The ideal candidate will be a total design junky obsessed with pushing the limits of packaging design.
Responsibilities:
· Write creative briefs for all large-scale, global packaging initiatives. Includes extensive global branding and global design knowledge.
· Function as a Creative Director (concept through execution) leading team members and external design partners.
· Work collaboratively with design firms, marketing, product and technology development, production planning, legal, procurement and package production teams to ensure design intent, schedules and budget are maintained.
· Select and manage external design resources against the developed strategic direction.
· Lead ongoing evaluation of package design by quantifying, outlining and presenting improvements to evolve our brands.
· Consult non-packaging design projects – corporate communications, events, brand promotions and innovation promotions.
· Mentor and develop junior team members.
