Design meets technology in Nicholas. He lends innovation and strategy to his clients in the form of customized iPhone applications. Nicholas and his business partner have built a platform and CMS which can output/export applications with branded skins, publish/update content through a Web browser, and include widgets and smaller apps within them. The abstract idea is of one code base, layered with apps whose functions and content are controlled through databases, dynamic control of features, and/or timed information releases. Their work represents the next generation of marketing: a targeted, cost-effective way for companies to engage new and existing customers, tech-savvy consumers who are looking for a quick brand experience. These easy-to-use apps enable consumers to learn more about a brand, products and promotions, and make purchases; they also streamline the flow of communication between brand and customer, making sure that the freshest content is delivered in a format they already accept. Nicholas contributes information architecture (including wireframes and mockups), screen and icon design, scripts for app/game flow, project management, and negotiating with clients. Example applications that they have conceived include online ticketing, product locators, music sampling and rating. This most recent success builds upon Nicholas' firm grounding in Web and print design. His portfolio includes Web site interfaces, HTML emails, collateral, marketing materials, packaging and POS, as well as identity systems. Nicholas is proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Flash.
