Pat is a wonderfully talented artist who aims, in every project, to "design intelligently." Most recently, Pat freelanced at Hewitt Associates, where he worked closely with UX Architects, Web programmers, and other designers. In this role, Pat created fresh interface designs for 3 releases of Hewitt’s proprietary application (YBR) and incorporated new and/or improved functionality and features into the existing layout. This required not only clean layout skills and front-end coding, but logical thinking about how to solve business needs (shared access, plan comparisons, calculators). Pat produced concept designs and click-through prototypes, as well as some wireframes. He was involved in the user testing process, and devised tasks to test navigation, then handed off fully notated files to the production team. Pat also worked on custom branded interfaces for Hewitt clients, created an animated avatar, and completed an internal on-boarding site from concept to completion.
When he worked at a5, Pat was responsible for print projects from start to finish, including production, paper and ink selection, and press checks. Clients were often so pleased with his logo or collateral design work, that they would ask him to extend the look to additional pieces, and Web sites. Not only does Pat have an affinity for clean layout and unique type, he is a gifted freehand illustrator! He is skilled in CS3, HTML and CSS for informational sites, Dreamweaver, and implementing Jquery. Ideally, Pat would like to take on public-facing work that challenges his skillset.
