Dave’s background is a unique mix of hands-on design and brand strategy, for a host of world-renowned brands. Most recently, Dave was responsible for account strategy, new product development, design management and strategy for Alberto Culver. Their design was often driven by marketing. To oversee each project from concept-to-launch, Dave partnered with internal marketing and sales teams, implemented consumer insights, worked closely with his clients, and directed their outside agencies, to implement “strategy through design.” He directly managed in-house teams, set timelines, and translated business objectives into creative direction. In addition to projects such as the global re-staging of 700+ SKU’s for St Ives, he oversaw the management and implementation of Alberto Culver brand Web sites (usability, relevant content, and social media strategy). Dave thrives in cross-functional roles where he can build internal and external relationships. Additional experience includes freelance work for Launch Creative, Element 79, Plan B, and Baer Design Group. An interesting side note: while at Alberto Culver, Dave became a key leader of their Green Team, which promoted ways in which the company could save money and improve sustainability, such as by using less plastic, exploring soy-based inks, and putting unified caps on their products.
