Martha is a proofreader and copyeditor with over 20 years of experience. She uses traditional proofreaders marks and is comfortable proofing and editing either onscreen or hard copy. Martha is proficient in both AP style and Chicago style manuals. She is currently working downtown as an editorial assistant for the state's Legislative Services Agency, proofreading drafts of bills during the legislative session and proofreading new and amended acts in the post-session. Previously she worked for the Indy Star as an editor, overseeing a team of 8 associate editors. Martha proofread and edited stories, photos and graphics for daily Sports section under extremely tight deadlines. She is comfortable with both copy and visuals and was responsible for the quality control and accuracy of all graphics in the paper as well as photography.
