Yu is a talented interaction / user experience / interface designer, with a background in usability and skills in information architecture. Immediately following her Master’s degree from IIT, Yu was hired into two teams within a 'Mobile Devices' division. Responsible for translating technical user requirements into aesthetic, usable interfaces for keypad and touch-screen devices. She created wire-frames, user interaction flows, personas, and use case scenarios; participated in high level design and functionality reviews; analyzed and wrote reports based on feedback; for applications such as messaging, contacts, and social networking. As the Lead UX Designer for Mobile Devices, Yu’s role grew: she drove the direction of the interface experience and functionality of a Web-based software application which securely controls the content of Android mobile devices through a personal computer, throughout the product life-cycle and version updates. She was directly responsible for creating scenarios for heuristic usability studies, wire-frames, storyboards, and other technical specification documents, to share design intent with development teams and visual designers. Yu is accustomed to working in Agile environments with multi-disciplinary teams including project managers, visual designers, and programmers. She is equally comfortable on Mac and PC platforms, using Visio, Omnigraffle, Axure, Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, and Creative Suite.
